A story of friendship and faith
St. Exupery was a French writer, and pilot during World War II. He had a friend Leon Werth, in the French Alps in exile who was a writer, philosopher, but also his mentor and friend. St. Exupery wrote The Little Prince for him complete with paintings he had done himself. To give him hope. And help him not forget the importance of being like a child. To tap into discovery, and wonder. To see better who he truly was. St. Exupery was a reminderer.
Though he was over age and had already done so much to help, and was even in exile himself in NY, he found a way to go back into the war, into the sky, to help his friend. St. Exupery ended up getting shot down flying over the Mediterranean sea. Leon Werth learned of his friends death and would not be comforted. Six months later, St. Exupery’s publisher send Leon the little book his friend had made and dedicated just for him.
I love this beautiful story of love and friendship.
And this is why I coach. To be a reminder of what is possible. And help others see themselves better with infinite possibilities. To see the tender, wonder of themselves and the world. There is nothing like it in all the world.
