Be Directed by Him

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

This has been the theme in our church over the past month and it has gotten me to thinking, what does acknowledge even mean? I always thought it was showing gratitude, but I think it is more than that. I had a dream about what this truly meant for me. I saw all of the creations of the earth and remembered that He created them all. He was behind all the beauty before my eyes. And when I see it, and take it in,...when I receive it, I receive Him. Acknowledging Him means we see that He is always there with us. He never loses focus on us no matter where we are. Our job is to not lose focus on Him.

Some definitions of acknowledge are: admit truth of or existence of, the fact or appreciation of or thanks, the validating or legitimacy of, notice or recognize someone by gesture or greeting, confirm receipt of something, recognize the rights of, to disclose knowledge of or agreement with, recognize as genuine or valid, disclose something that has been concealed.

My thoughts are to take Christ into my life in new and special ways. Every time I see a sunrise and sunset, I am reminded and acknowledge the great creator that made it. To me it is a beautiful way to receive love from him and say, "I see you and you see me".
